Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Washington County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its material, or submitting a query through a search tool signifies agreement to these terms. Anyone who does not accept them should stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. This is a privately operated site with no connection to Washington County, the State of Georgia, or any other government. Neither this site nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or any other decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site is not a private investigation firm or a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently of all government offices. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official checks, or submits documents for a visitor.

Its role is to identify the Washington County Sheriff, Clerk of Court, Georgia Crime Information Center, Georgia Sex Offender Registry, and other custodians, while also linking to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on an agreement not to:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it
  • Use site content for employment, tenant, lending, insurance, or other FCRA-regulated decisions

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information found here or through a linked tool to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate against another person. Georgia registry information is governed by O.C.G.A. § 42-1-12 and must not be used for threats, harassment, or unlawful acts. The Georgia Sex Offender Registry serves public-safety awareness, not vigilantism or prohibited screening.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Washington County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not create a background check, credit report, or consumer report. Its advertising partners likewise are not presented as services for FCRA-regulated decisions. Information from this site or a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A person who needs a legally compliant report for a regulated purpose must use an authorized official process or a qualified FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General information about Washington County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or Georgia record-restriction rule applies to a specific person. Consult a licensed Georgia attorney for legal advice.

6. No Warranties

All content is offered "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Criminal records can change when charges are filed, amended, dismissed, restricted, or sealed. Gaps and delays may occur. Nothing here is an official statement by the Washington County courts, Sheriff, GCIC, or another agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to government pages, court resources, legal organizations, and outside search services that we do not control. We are not responsible for a destination's content, availability, prices, or data practices. Its own terms apply after a visitor leaves this site.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Washington County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, distributed, adapted, or used to create derivative work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from site use, including reliance on material found here or through an external service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, actions, or demands caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Georgia law governs these terms, including applicable provisions of the Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70 et seq., and the criminal-history dissemination limits in O.C.G.A. § 35-3-35 where those laws are relevant to official source records. Any dispute tied to site use must be brought in a court located in Georgia.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or terminate access at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in force. The affected term will be narrowed only as far as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be submitted through the Contact page.
